I hope you find many things to be grateful for during this season. Have a wonderful week off and send pictures if you have a moment. The children love to share their adventures.
We have spent the last several weeks talking about being thankful. The children completed a Thankful book today and it should be in their folders. They worked very hard writing about things they are thankful for; a person, a place. a thing, and something in nature. They had so many amazing ideas. Today Mazen wrote, "I am thankful for books. "They make me smart and happy." I loved it! Please look for the Thankful book and have your child read it to you. Here are some pictures from literacy centers. In math we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. Ask your child the difference between the two types of shapes. Can you help your child make a rectangle with 2 squares? A hexagon with 6 small triangles? Which solid shapes roll? Shapes are so much fun. We see them everywhere. Today we watched our recorded Celebration of Learning and then walked around the school to hand out our cards to thank helpers (some were mailed, and some went home with students). It was a wonderful tiny 'field trip'. I hope you have time to watch our recorded Celebration of Learning with your child. I am sorry the last song is so quiet, maybe your child can sing it for you. The weather has been so beautiful lately. The children have so enjoyed making leaf piles, catching falling leaves and watching the season change. I am so privileged to spend my days with little humans and see the world through their eyes. If you are reading this Thursday night and it is not too late, please take your child outside and look up at the Beaver Moon. It is so lovely. If not tonight then tomorrow night.
I hope you find many things to be grateful for during this season. Have a wonderful week off and send pictures if you have a moment. The children love to share their adventures.
