I hope you have a wonderful Halloween. Stay safe and have fun.
This week we continued learning about maps. Thank you for sending in the map of your child's room. Everyone enjoyed sharing their pictures. Using the self portraits we created in Art, we mapped ourselves using Spanish labels. We practiced the song "Macarena Bones" each morning and made a q-tip skeleton. The children thought it was really hard to learn the words for the little song, but with practice we learned it. Ask your child to sing it to you. It is always exciting to carve a pumpkin at school. We dug out the guts, voted on the face, helped cut the face and counted the seeds. I put a light in the jack-o-lantern and then read the scary story Abiyoyo. It was great fun. Next week we will work on our stories about our favorite places in Decatur. On Friday we will visit downtown Decatur and locate the library, Yogurt Tap and the square on a map. It will be an exciting day.
I hope you have a wonderful Halloween. Stay safe and have fun.

About meI grew up in Florida and have lived in Decatur since arriving at Agnes Scott College to get my Mathematics degree. After teaching High School math for a few years, I worked at preschools while raising my 3 sons.
