How can tomorrow be the last day of Kindergarten? I will always remember this group of small humans. We have learned so much about reading, writing, math, nature and our world. We have learned how to be kind, how to work with each other and how to listen. I love each of them so much. Thank you for being amazing parents. I have felt loved and appreciated all year long. Thank you for putting your faith in me and in public school. Life is Good. |
Yesterday was game day! Thank you so much for sending in so many games. The children had a blast playing games together. We had such a huge variety, everyone was happy. I don't have a picture of Theo's game, Hot Lava, but it was so much fun. We set it up in the hall and I think almost everyone tried it. We also visited the 3rd grade Market Place. Thank you for donating to The Mad Housers. The children enjoyed having money and shopping around for handmade things, but really it was the donation that will change a life. We then came back to our room and started decorating our pinatas for the last day of school. The boys decided on an alien fish creature and the girls are making a Queen Bee. They brainstormed the design and then painted the base coat and tomorrow we will add more details. Finally, we did the cooperative activity called The Marshmallow Challenge. We all succeeded which never happens and I thought "Wow, these kids are amazing...brilliant...I can't believe it" and while this is true...later we found out that Shilah had done the activity at Camp Scene. Oh well, we still had fun. Today was Science day. We began the day by going outside on a bug hunt. The children worked in pairs looking for anything interesting outside. We walked quite a ways out the back of the school. At one point someone said, "we might see a deer out here in the forest". Man I love these babies. Due to the lack of rain it was very difficult to find many bugs, but we persevered. We found a snail, a rolypoly, a beetle, a slug, a centipede, many worms, mushrooms, and tree fungus stuff. We brought all of our treasures inside to look closely at them and then draw/ write about them. Our last bit of fun was science centers. We worked with magnets, mixed colors, looked at thermometers, and explored cornstarch and water. So much water everywhere, but gosh it was a blast.
