Friday, March 31 we will lead Community Circle. The children will be singing 'Yellow Submarine'. If your child has swimming goggles, a mask, a snorkel, or maybe a mermaid costume please send them in for our song. Thank you for helping me with this undertaking. I have made 2 yellow submarines, but they only have 10 port holes, so we need a few other things to help everyone feel important. Have a happy week. It is hard to believe spring break is only 1 week away.
Monday was the first day of Spring. I brought in flowers to celebrate this special day. Each table had a vase of flowers for the children to draw. We then put on a frame and wrote spring words on each side. Such a sweet tradition for me. This week the children read the book It Looked Like Spilt Milk and created their own cloud pictures. We also listened to the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and then drew and wrote what they would like to fall from the sky. The children enjoyed making pinwheels and practicing the poem, 'Who Has Seen the Wind'. So precious...the children practicing their Student Led Conferences with book buddies. They are so excited to share their learning with you! Please help your child feel successful as they talk to you about their work. If they are struggling with the printed Learning Target, please help them out. This is their first time doing this and the most important thing is that they finish feeling proud of how much they have grown. Be sure you enjoy this time, smile and celebrate how your child is maturing.
