580 seeds! What a wonderful activity. Everyone had so much fun. They even decided to name the pumpkin. Westchester got the most votes. I took the seeds home and roasted them and many children tasted them the next day.
Next week we will learn about the first Thanksgiving. We will read books and retell the story together. We will discuss how different things were long ago.
Also, we will continue working on our Expedition about how everyone is a helper. We have almost completed our interviews of staff members at Westchester. Ask your child if they can remember anything special about Mrs. Stroud, or Ms. Lacretia, or Mrs. Bowden, or Mrs. D., or Mrs. Howarth. Do they remember which one had a pony when they were little?
We are planning our field experience to Decatur for November 20. This will be the kickoff for our last case study on our community. If you are interested in chaperoning this trip please send me an email. I will also be sending you an email about lunch that day. We should have a big time visiting the library, Butter and Cream, The Decatur Recreation Center, City Hall and the Square. Sending hope for a beautiful sunny crisp fall day!
Have a wonderful almost full moon Halloween. I hope everyone has a fun safe Saturday night. I might be walking around the Westchester neighborhood looking for ninjas and princesses.
