In Art this week Mrs. Howarth taught us about the famous artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. We watched a short video about her work and then went through the process of creating our own flowers in her style. The children were encouraged to cover all the white areas when painting their flowers. Some beautiful masterpieces were made. |
In writing we have continued learning about poetry. The children have really caught on to the difference between stories, informational writing, and poems. I hope they have been sharing their creative ideas with you. We have discussed how a poem sounds like music, has line breaks, looks at something from your heart in a new way. It has been a fun 2 weeks in writing. |
Wow how generous you are! I love all the new books from the book fair. The photo does not show all that I received, because they just kept coming. I have read almost all of them to the children and they have enjoyed bringing in their new books and reading them to the class also. I am very touched by the love you show me as your child's teacher. I feel I am the lucky one. |
Don't forget about our special community circle next Thursday morning at Woodland Gardens. I hope many of you will be able to walk down and be with your child for this fun time.
Have a wonderful weekend...no rain in the forecast.
