I can not wait to hear all about the adventures of fall break. We had many families headed to the beach, several to Disney, one going on a cruise, Texas and Colorado were mentioned, as well as grandma and staycation. Thank you Ian for taking care of Chester during this break. Enjoy the last few days of vacation and I will see you soon.
What a fun week we had reading many versions of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and then celebrating our learning about kindness. Thank you all for taking the time to come to the Celebration of Learning. I am so proud of the children. They sang and remembered their lines when explaining our Expedition. They sure enjoyed the treats of mini cupcakes, popcorn and clementines. Even with all the excitement we still managed to learn some math. The children loved playing war, practicing the writing numbers 4-9 and learning the game race to 20. Our next standards involve breaking apart teen numbers into one ten and several ones. For example; 15 is 1 ten and 5 ones. Maybe you could talk some about teen numbers at home. I hope your children have told you about our new teacher, Ms. Bonnie. I am so thrilled to be working with her. She is so kind and attentive to your children. I feel so blessed to have her as my partner. Here are some pictures of the children sharing their work during our Celebration of Learning. Next week we will be doing everything apples in honor of Fall. We will weigh, measure, taste, graph, cook and eat apples. If you are able please send in 2 apples. It would be great if they are different types, size or color. Thank you for your help with this week of fun in Kindergarten.

About meI grew up in Florida and have lived in Decatur since arriving at Agnes Scott College to get my Mathematics degree. After teaching High School math for a few years, I worked at preschools while raising my 3 sons. I obtained a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and taught in Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties for 10 years before coming to Westchester when it reopened in 2013. Archives
