Right now I am at the beach trying to soak up every last minute of summer. My friends stayed with me for a few days. After they left, my husband joined me for 3 days. The weather has been wonderful and we have seen so many interesting things. Last night we were riding our beach bikes and we saw a baby sea turtle scurrying toward the ocean. When we looked toward the dunes we realized there were 50 of his brothers and sisters making their way to freedom. What a special surprise!
I guess you have now checked the list on the door and know that you are in my class. I am so excited to start my second year at Westchester. We also happened to be on the beach when the launch from KSC took place. I hope you had some great adventures this summer. I can't wait to hear all about what you did, where you went, and what you love. They are a little hard to see, but these guys are our new class pets. They are black gerbils. They love to chew up cardboard and they are excited to come to school. We will have to vote on names for them. They are both girls. Enjoy the last few hours of summer and know that Kindergarten will be awesome. I look forward to meeting you at Meet and Greet on Thursday. Please subscribe with your email so that you will know each time I blog.

About meI grew up in Florida and have lived in Decatur since arriving at Agnes Scott College to get my Mathematics degree. After teaching High School math for a few years, I worked at preschools while raising my 3 sons. I obtained a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and taught in Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties for 10 years before coming to Westchester when it reopened in 2013. Archives
