Next week we will be reading and learning about Holidays around the world. We are always happy to have you come in and talk about special things you do during the winter season. Also, I hope to see you on Tuesday, December 15 at 8:30am in the auditorium to watch your child sing and talk about what we have learned through our Expedition work.
This week has been full of Gingerbread stories! We have read many versions of the tale, written our own book, acted out the story with flannel pieces, decorated paper gingerbread people and tomorrow we will bake our own Gingerbread boy and girl. Will they run away? Charlie says, "We have to add the magic stuff for them to come alive". I guess I need to find out what that is before tomorrow. On Monday my husband came to our class to talk about his job as an architect. He showed us a house plan and we guessed what the symbols represented on the plan. With his guidance we developed symbols for a treasure map and then created our own maps. I hope your child was able to explain their map to you. Did they tell you about the compass rose, the symbols, and geographical features? This was a wonderful activity. Creating fun colorful art with Mrs. Howarth.
