I am so sorry that I forgot to include the mystery readers from last week. We also had one today. The children love guessing who is coming to read and they are so thrilled when the person belongs to them. I am sure it is hard to get away, but it is so enjoyed by all.
Next week we will work on qu and z, the last letters of the alphabet. Continue to encourage writing and reading at home. The children have learned to tap out sounds for CVC words, such as; big, top, Sam, dug, met. Now that we have learned the letters and sounds, we will move on to digraphs and many other spelling rules.
For the next 2 weeks leading up to our Celebration of Learning and Thanksgiving we will focus on what being grateful means. One way that I do this is by reading many versions of the folk tale, Stone Soup. Hopefully on November 16th we will make Stone Soup in our classroom. When everyone helps, even in a small way, big things can happen.
I hope you have a restful quiet weekend.
