We have moved into the last part of our Kindness Expedition; How can my acts of kindness impact Decatur? We are learning about Community Helpers. The children are enjoying reading books about jobs in our city and writing about these jobs. In Art the children are creating postcards that we will give and mail to heros in our neighborhood. In math we have moved into our shape unit. Although children generally know 2D shapes, we still have such fun making pictures with shapes, combining shapes to make new shapes and counting shapes. Sorry for such a short week. Next week we will complete work that didn't get completed last week and then move into gratefulness and 3D shapes. Watching 'Jack' go back to the earth!

About meI grew up in Florida and have lived in Decatur since arriving at Agnes Scott College to get my Mathematics degree. After teaching High School math for a few years, I worked at preschools while raising my 3 sons. I obtained a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and taught in Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties for 10 years before coming to Westchester when it reopened in 2013. Archives
