Thank you for all you do to send your child ready to learn everyday. Your job as a parent is so very important for our world.
This week we became experts on mammals. First we brainstormed what we already new about this group of animals and then researched more facts about mammals. We then focused on the lifecycle of mammals by looking at the human life cycle. Finally we thought about the life cycle of a rabbit. Your children know so much about animals! Ask them, "How can you tell if an animal is a mammal?". In Math the children have practiced and practiced teen numbers. Ask your child to tell you how to say a teen number "the say 10 way". They are getting very good at this. In phonics we continue to add 2 letters each week. We are working on spelling CVC words by pulling out the sounds; for example, met is /m/ /e/ /t/. We are also working hard on heart words. These are the ones we have been practicing: the, you, to, do, is, his, see, look, of, have, love, my. I had a wonderful birthday celebrating with your children. I so appreciate you helping them with cards, gifts and flowers. They were so thrilled to give me their treasures. Tomorrow we will begin learning about birds. I will put a bird feeder outside our window and hopefully we will see many different kinds of birds. We are becoming real Zoologists.
Thank you for all you do to send your child ready to learn everyday. Your job as a parent is so very important for our world.
