We are deep in Expedition mode in Kindergarten. The children love being Entomologists and learning so many creepy WOW facts about bugs. I hope your child has shared with you some of the information they are learning. This week we have focused on bees. The children did their first scientific drawings this week. They drew 3 or 4 drafts as they learned facts about the anatomy of the bee. I think they might be experts now! You will see these drawing when you come on May 11th at 8:30 for our Celebration of Learning. Today, a Bee Expert came to share knowledge with the children. They brought part of a bee hive, and a smoker. The children learned even more about the queen bee and how honey is produced. Did you hear about our ladybugs? We bought ladybugs for each Kindergarten classroom to observe going through their lifecycle. Then to my surprise...Grace found tiny ladybug eggs on a blade of grass and brought them in for us to watch. The whole thing was amazing! We have had so many amazing Mystery Readers. Thank each of you for taking the time to come to school with a favorite book and make our day. I am so sorry, if I missed you in the pictures. Just know you are the best. We will be going to the Wylde Center on April 27, Thursday, from 11:00-1:00. We are planning to eat lunch before we go. The children will be learning more about bugs and how they are important. We will be going in buses. If you would like to join us, please let me know. We can take 2 adult chaperones on the bus. If you would like to drive your own car and meet us at the Garden, that is fine as well.
