During literacy centers this week the children learned a Rainbow poem, wrote about finding a pot of gold and reviewed blends.
As the seasons change I enjoy doing a few air experiments. This week we did an experiment showing how air takes up space. Ask your child to show you using a clear cup, tape a tissue inside the cup. Then push the cup under water. Why doesn't the tissue get wet?
Our second experiment showed how air changes shape due to temperature. We discussed "What is inside a jar?". Nothing...what about air? Then I put a balloon to trap the air inside. We heated up the bottle and watched. We then cooled the bottle and watched. Such squealing and excitement! Air does change shape.
Next week we will be kicking off our Bug Expedition with the walking field trip. On Wednesday, weather permitting, we will go on a bug hunt around the school. This will be like a second kick-off! Get ready to hear many WOW! facts about creepy crawly bugs.
Thank you for all the love this week. The lunch, ice cream, cards and gifts made my week very special.
I am off for a grandchildren fix and I can not wait. I hope you have a joy filled weekend.
