Thursday was such an exciting day in Kindergarten. The children decided that we had to make leprechaun traps. Each table collaborated together on what they needed and how to construct the trap. It was so much fun to watch them working together. I wish you could hear the explanations of each tables creation..."He will come in here because you know he likes coins and then he will see this cozy bed. He will fall asleep and then we will catch him!". They used clover, pennies, ribbon, boxes, and glitter. The leprechaun snuck in our room during lunch. He made a huge mess and he left notes at each trap, but we did not catch him. He is so sneaky. I hope your child told you about all the fun at school. Literacy Centers this week focused on rainbows and leprechauns. The children put together The Rainbow poem. They also wrote about what they would do if they found a pot of gold. I loved it when one little girl said, "I would leave it there because my parents told me not to touch things that aren't mine". They are listening. Very messy but super fun art this week. The children learned how Eric Carle makes the paper for his wonderful illustrations. They used some of the techniques and created their own paper. Later they will make a picture using these paintings. We need to do an author study on Eric Carle pronto.
