Next week we will study wind and weather. We will do several science experiments about how air takes up space and changes shape do to temperature. I will show the children the water cycle and the 3 states of matter using water, ice, and steam. Looking forward to another great week.
We continued our study of rocks and soil with a visit from a rock expert on Monday. She brought many samples with her. We sorted the rocks into light and dark. We also learned that some rocks are lighter than others because they contain many air pockets, such as pumice. Great learning and fun for all. Ellie's mom (Lisa) came again on Thursday to candle the eggs. We both have been worried that this might not work out well. We were so happy and surprised when we saw 7 embryos! We might actually get 7 little ducklings right before spring break. This has been so wonderful for the children. They are doing great drawings and words about what they see. Thank you so much Lisa for making this happen in my classroom.
