On Tuesday our ducks visited for the morning. We talked about all the things we learned through this amazing experience. Please ask your child to read their Duck Egg Log Book to you. The children enjoyed drawing the ducks while observing them; the beginning of scientific drawing. Here we are making our valentine holders. This week we have read many books about Valentine's Day and love. Here Comes Valentine Cat was one of our favorites. This week we practiced the poem Hug O' War, made a digraph game, and worked on locating words that begin with the blend gr. The children enjoy working in their groups talking and learning together. In math the children created a graph of penguins and colored in a paper graph. Then using math words they described what they noticed. They also put snowballs in mittens and wrote a math sentence to tell how many they had. In Art Mrs. Howarth found a great book at Little Shop of Stories called Love Monster. She read the book and then the children made their own monsters. What a fun activity! I hope you have a wonderful winter break. I know some of you are traveling and some are staying home. Either way enjoy the change of pace, laugh with your loved ones, and make some memories. I will be staying in Decatur taking care of the 5 little ducklings. This is actually fun for me! See you on the last day of February.
